Did Baby Sister ruin Tyler's school project and alter his vision at the same time? It's amazing how Tyler's Little City turned out. Tyler learned that he could become a property owner at a young age. He would then provide a healthy living for everyone in his community. How would he do that? Well, let's just say Baby Sister was a mastermind.
This unique tale speaks inspiration to the concept of owning land and managing property. It takes us through an imagination that lands in a community equivalent to Black Wall Street. "We can be property owners in real life" as Big Sister Sam encouraged. A powerful statement for all children.
Authors Note:
Tyler’s Little City is inspired by my combined gifts as an artist and storyteller. When I was a child, I always wanted to create my own characters and bring them to life. This was a moment for me to grab my pencil, open my sketchpad, and reclaim my childhood imagination.
I wrote Tyler’s Little City to start up the conversation of owning land at an early age. I didn’t grow up with the mindset of a property owner. I wasn’t one who had plans to build on the land. So, I wrote to inform the youth. You too can be a property owner, just as Big Sister Sam said. You can own houses, large buildings, banks, hospitals, and businesses. You can grow your own trees to drop your favorite fruits. You can build gates around your area and call it a private community. Those are just a few of the good benefits that comes with being a property owner.
I also wrote this book to encourage you to never let go of your dreams. Water your dreams every day, even if no one can ever understand the process of your growth. You are chosen to do so. Imagine that!

IN ALL MY YEARS IN POVERTY, I HAD ONE GOAL: To get my family out of the ghetto. That was by any means necessary. To many of my elders, the way out was through instilled reliance on school education. Had I pursued that angle, I could've gotten us all out of the ghetto by simply using the Board of Education to polish up on my natural gift as a sketch artist. I mean, who knows where that could've taken me? I could've been the modern-day Picasso by now. But as time went by, adopting a life heavily involved in the streets while high school was no longer an option, I was certain that my life would result in struggle. Sure enough, it did: Homeless, neglected, wounded, and investigated. I mean, I got dragged through the bottom before I felt comfortable enough to mentor these students.
In my 320-page autobiography, SICKO THE STUBBORN CHILD OF GOD, I discuss relationships and decisions be it good or bad, and the patterns that kept me hypnotized. I get in depth through many hardships that prevented me from discovering my identity. My story starts off at the roots of my African ancestry, separated and displaced in American poverty. The entire storyline is then formed around the perception of one-of-many straying away descendants, who gained hands-on experiences in the same place where he was conceived – New York City. "Sicko" was what they called him. Sicko from the Bronx.
Of an era where drug dealing elders were glorified and gangsters were feared, I compared me and my sibling's everyday curiosity to our infected surroundings and identified the attitude of brave and angry teens, who developed into inmate prospects and known gangster rappers. Teens who were judged for their irrational behavior. Rising stars taking the stage with some of hip-hop's greats. Occupied by such success in the music industry, we found a satisfying yet temporary outlet from reality.
Without limiting details to the burned-down house we once lived in or the streets that scarred me, I transition to my struggles as a mature individual. The young man who was trapping his gifts in an alternative life. The father/husband in corporate America, beginning to measure success by the institution of which one graduated. The discouragements of an entrepreneur determined to plant a seed for his lineage. There were many things that deterred me even as an adult, but they pushed me into the "purpose" that I'd been willingly neglecting. The autobiography was my gift of influence to God's people. Influencing readers to measure success by the intangible feeling of a spiritual installment brought to life. To utilize your gifts like God presented you with a task in the form of talents. This is the true story of Sicko; a once-upon-a-time homeless kid bred in the west Bronx. Sicko's life details the timeline of a lawless adolescent mentally trapped within the limits of poverty. A gifted Indo-African, adapting to his environment year after year, to the extent of adding to the ugly statistics of high school dropouts in the region.
"Shaking that hood mentality wasn't easy. The streets was all I knew. I was conditioned to embrace poverty as home, and I still do. Follow me as I take you through some unbelievable conditions and hardships. But keep in mind that although it may seem as if I enjoyed my part in the despair, I was never comfortable there. I just couldn't seem to find a way out."
At the young age of sixteen, Sicko merged with a sibling to form a hip-hop group called the "Darkside Mob". Together, they inked their first recording deal and went on to travel the states. Performing alongside major industry artists, their fan base expanded quickly. Success seemed only a few events away. Suddenly, a stream of incidences occurred that landed them right back on the streets of the Bronx.
Along the endless violent path they chose to resume, he and his brothers took a turn for the worse. Burdens only got heavier. Encounters came in the form of war scars and prison threats. That's up until the authors desire for change. A transformation that was far from easy.
In this heartfelt testimony, you'll be walked through drastic measures, to better understand the damaging of a childhood that affected one's adulthood. You'll relate to the everyday occurrences that keeps humanity divided: racial encounters, segregation, discrimination, street wars, financial barriers, domestic disputes and so much more. Then we'll transition to the mindset of an entrepreneur.
"See, I was raised in the sour apple, where I've indeed savored my bitter share. So, prepare to receive a real-life account of how various negative pieces can be gathered and repaired. Prepare to be encouraged. This is my life...

BRONX, NEW YORK | October 25, 2023 - Press Release - Sicko The Stubborn Child of God is a true story by Kwame King, based on actual events in this multi-talented author's life. It touches on everyday occurrences to a gut-wrenching extreme, giving readers wisdom from retrospective conclusions, to be able to apply self-help. Written to give hope for those distracted by poverties propaganda and the talented sweeping their gifts under the carpet, Sicko The Stubborn Child of God combines the illustration of impoverished communities and the energy that poor families ordinarily consume, to emphasize the effect. Stagnated civilians and mentally exhausted laborers stayed in place for years, if not decades. Instead of watching life pass by without daring to plant a seed, they can now flip through pages of encouragement, written by someone who can thoroughly relate. With this book, hardworking spouses and fatherless dads will be encouraged by fifteen years of compromising for the household. Unrevealed talents can reference to an authentic struggle that builds on the confidence to pursue their dreams. Weighing the experiences of the author against their personal challenges, the spirit of the gift will likely reawaken.
